    Name: Phenylephrine

    IUPAC Name:  (R)-3-[-1-hydroxy-2-(methylamino)ethyl]phenol

    Uses:

            1) Treat  nasal discomfort caused by hay fever,allergy and cold.
            2) Treat sinus congestion.

    Adverse Drug Reaction:

    1) Stomach upset
    2) Dizziness
    3) Headache
    4) Shaking
    5) Increase heart rete
    6) Cold feeling due to it decreases blood flow to hands or feet
    7) Nausea
    8) Vomiting

    When Invented:

    In 1930 Phenylephrine was described in literature and in 1939 it was
    approved by FDA.
